Quilmes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ernesto Osasun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Gonsalve's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Aaron Muno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustín Ponce having to interfere. Quilmes's Ernesto Osasun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Gaueko in the 9th minute of play. After 11 played minutes Quilmes got a freekick which was hit by Gervasio Soter. Ernesto Osasun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Apolo Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicanor Gonsalve received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ernesto Osasun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agustín Ponce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Soter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. In the 95th minute, Jonathan Errapel had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. When the final whistle sounded 1989 Blxsk left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quilmes.
