When Rolando Lugo fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estudiantes de América's protests and gave Rolando Lugo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melchor Evarado to maneuver through the defense. Florencio Berbiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elias Argoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Ourente came free, but Florencio Berbiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florencio Berbiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Ourente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raul Cambranes kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Ezequiel Luke took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Florencio Berbiz. Florencio Berbiz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A nice corner shot did that Miguel Txema got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hipolito Matro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Arnulfo Giraldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Hipolito Matro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Caton hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Miguel Txema took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hipolito Matro. Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 44th minute Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb were awarded a corner. Miguel Txema went to the cornerflag to take it. Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb's Miguel Txema was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hipolito Matro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reynaldo Napier to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 minutes, Reynaldo Napier made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Estudiantes de América's Hipolito Matro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With 58 minutes on the clock, Ricardo Caton commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Estudiantes de América fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 57th minute. Penalty! In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb. Miguel Txema stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hipolito Matro. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Elias Argoitz got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Hipolito Matro came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb's Reynaldo Napier. But to his dismay, Reynaldo Napier quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Txema didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb defense, Melchor Evarado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florencio Berbiz. The Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florencio Berbiz should have stopped the shot. Reynaldo Napier took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hipolito Matro. Hipolito Matro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. Florencio Berbiz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denis Mon in the 85th minute. Florencio Berbiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Ourente, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Çóndør Fútbøl Clüb's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
