The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Wilford Shipp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Russ Thorne hit a great ball. Nazario Alcantara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilford Shipp in the 18th minute of the match. Nazario Alcantara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilford Shipp in the 20th minute of play. In the 24th match minute, TurboUC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Lantaño to maneuver through the defense. Nazario Alcantara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilford Shipp's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. When Wilford Shipp fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cosmos Soccer Club's protests and gave Wilford Shipp a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, Cosmos Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilford Shipp to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xabel Vallejo in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruce Nesbitt saved Cosmos Soccer Club from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xamín Angeloni got free with Bruce Nesbitt in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute of the game Sid Hart made a throw-in which Wilford Shipp played forward. Weldon Velasco hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half.
