The audience thought a goal was coming when Paco Cano got free with Paulino Lain in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vinicio Jon's late challenge caught a Pakorro AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Paulino Lain. After a rather tough play, Les Tigres's Abel Estebe got a free kick in the 34th minute. The long shot by Carlos Vachon in the 35th minute really tested Paulino Lain's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Paco Cedeño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severiano Clemencin in the 39th minute of play. 1-1 became the score in the 43rd minute when Jonathan Veronica elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 46 minutes into the game, Les Tigres's Jonathan Veronica nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paco Cedeño made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After the first half Les Tigres were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonathan Veronica to strike the kick off in the second half. When German Alvarez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 51 minutes had been played.
