Andoni Zubizarreta was a little too slow when Evaristo Ponte got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-1. 17 minutes in the game Lucien Vercalsteren did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Karl-Åke Lindström. Predators's Andoni Zubizarreta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Ponte in the 26th minute of play. The Conqueror's Yağızalp Sayyad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Salas in the 33rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in The Conqueror's zone, Samuel Etoo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yağızalp Sayyad came out of the goal and Samuel Etoo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Tümer Gülsoy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celal Erçetin got free with Andoni Zubizarreta in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Uğur Akdurmuş took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andoni Zubizarreta. Andoni Zubizarreta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The Conqueror's Yağızalp Sayyad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Etoo in the 60th minute of play. Lucien Vercalsteren hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Andoni Zubizarreta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Ponte, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Lucien Vercalsteren charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucien Vercalsteren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Conqueror made a substitution. Ahmet Sedat Umut replaced Celal Erçetin. The Conqueror's Baykan Bicanoğlu was substituted for Cenan Şennur. Lucien Vercalsteren kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Yağızalp Sayyad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Salas in the 77th minute. Gylippus Nikolakakos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Yağızalp Sayyad made a huge save. Predators's Lucien Vercalsteren got his second yellow card of the match in the 87th minute. The referee ordered Lucien Vercalsteren off the ground. The supporters of Predators booed when The Conqueror was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ahmet Kutsi Gençyaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Yağızalp Sayyad managed to avoid a goal in the 97thth minute, when Predators's Marcelo Salas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
