An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Käller in the 3rd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Bart Basson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes had been played when some careless play by France's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joacim Hansson was slow to take the kick. During this time Sweden's players had a chance to rest. Joacim Hansson made a great header on Sweden's corner, it was just that France's Bart Basson managed to reach the ball for a save. 11 minutes into the game, Sebastian Käller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bart Basson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jocelyn Care in the 20th minute of play forced Sweden's goalkeeper Gustaf Eklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Tobías Gunnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaf Eklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobías Gunnarsson in the 27th minute of the match. Bart Basson came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Sweden's Joacim Hansson. But to his dismay, Joacim Hansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 34th minute Jocelyn Care shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the France defense, Sebastian Käller kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bart Basson. The France fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bart Basson should have stopped the shot. In the 42nd minute Sebastian Käller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bart Basson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éluard Plantade in the 44th minute of play forced Sweden's goalkeeper Gustaf Eklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Tobías Gunnarsson could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Gustaf Eklund however easily saved by the left post. After the first half Sweden were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Sebastian Käller made the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by John-Paul Locatelli in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sweden's Sven-Oskar Carlsson. After 53 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for France! France:s Bart Basson showed great skill when he stopped Sebastian Käller:s penalty. After a long run with the ball, Sebastian Käller did a trick in the 55th minute in front of France's goalkeeper, who threw himself to the side. After that it was simple to shoot 0-4. An impressive performance by Sweden's Sebastian Käller! France made a substitution. Carlos Taillade replaced Jocelyn Care. France's Harold Combettes was substituted for Diego Farges. Sweden's Per-Olof Vallmark was substituted for Einar Hedström. In the 65th minute of the match Sweden got a corner. France's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joacim Hansson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Sweden's Henrik Berg to fire away a dangerous shot which Bart Basson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Bart Basson made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Lars Sundström sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute of the match Sweden got a corner. France's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joacim Hansson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Sweden's Gustaf Eklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Marceau in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute Bruno Marceau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Eklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bebben Johansson might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bart Basson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bebben Johansson ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Marceau kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 97 minutes into the match, Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Combettes came free, but Gustaf Eklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
