Bassam Wahbi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Lebanon were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after Slovakia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hamodi Hamid took the corner. After taking down the ball on Lebanon's corner Hamodi Hamid fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kaapo Velikiy quite easily take care of the ball. Kaapo Velikiy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bashar Al Azra in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Hisham Omar came free, but Kaapo Velikiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Richard Zedník shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bassam Wahbi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amir Abou Jisser in the 33rd minute of play forced Slovakia's goalkeeper Kaapo Velikiy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lebanon's Hafiz Nusri got a free kick in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Lebanon's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Zedník came free, but Bassam Wahbi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mostafa Jabal's late challenge caught a Slovakia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mostafa Jabal helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Lebanon getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Mostafa Jabal hit a great ball. Lebanon's Bassam Wahbi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomáš Požgaj in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amir Abou Jisser to strike the kick off in the second half. Amir Abou Jisser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaapo Velikiy having to interfere. Bassam Wahbi made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Richard Zedník sent off a good shot on target. 56 minutes into the game, Bashar Al Azra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lebanon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Slovakia the free kick. After 57 played minutes Lebanon got a freekick which was hit by Bashar Al Azra. Lebanon's Bassam Wahbi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Lebanon from getting a goal against them. If Daniel Mikla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Lebanon's Bassam Wahbi got control of the ball when Daniel Mikla tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Slovakia's goal looked a bit too open when Dirar Rashid came free, but Kaapo Velikiy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bassam Wahbi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Mikla in the 88th minute of play. Richard Zedník might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bassam Wahbi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Richard Zedník ran back to his position shaking his head.
