After a rather tough play, Estonia's Kuido Joala got a free kick in the 42nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Innar Laaneloog in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baltazar Gallardo saved Guatemala from getting behind. After the first half Guatemala were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juan José Ferraro to strike the kick off in the second half.
