An unexpectedly hard shot by Moise Vlădean in the 33rd minute of play forced Merced AFC's goalkeeper Salvador Lazcano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baltasar Alfonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ysmael Marfil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Petru Avramescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Lazcano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The DINAMO fans' excitement grew in the 41st match minute when DINAMO's Moise Vlădean looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Cosme Filipo was slow to take the kick. During this time Merced AFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Leon Cortez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but DINAMO's Ysmael Marfil did a great save. In the 74th match minute, Merced AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos Damião to maneuver through the defense.
