The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ysmael Marfil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liviu Buceceanu in the 3rd minute of play. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by DINAMO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ionică Hrandabur was slow to take the kick. During this time Armada's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ionică Hrandabur got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ysmael Marfil quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Armada's Cleto Polentzi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alex Fința in the 11 minute of the game. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind DINAMO's goalkeeper Ysmael Marfil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 14th minute of the match Armada got a corner. DINAMO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ionică Hrandabur ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Armada's corner Ionică Hrandabur fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ysmael Marfil quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of DINAMO booed when Armada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodor Ivănescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Enoiu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ysmael Marfil made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Cătălin Vasilache sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Armada's attentive Cleto Polentzi managed to snatch the ball when Alex Fința made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game.
