In the 5th match minute, Great United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wei Xuan Kang to maneuver through the defense. SK Pillai made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Afiq Lum sent off a good shot on target. 19 minutes into the match, Great United's goalkeeper SK Pillai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tan Phua. 21 minutes into the game, Great United's Aziz Tee nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Faizal Lee made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. North Kilworth FC's Faizal Lee played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prime Chian in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Lee Sarangapani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afiq Lum who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of SK Pillai when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 29 minutes into the game, Jonathan Pillai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Great United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave North Kilworth FC the free kick. 32 minutes into the match, Great United's goalkeeper SK Pillai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afiq Lum. 36 minutes into the match, North Kilworth FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aziz Tee came free, but Faizal Lee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Jerry Seng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Faizal Lee was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. If Afiq Lum had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the game, Lee Sarangapani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Kilworth FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Great United the free kick. Lee Sarangapani hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the match, North Kilworth FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aziz Tee came free, but Faizal Lee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 48 minutes into the match, Great United's goalkeeper SK Pillai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afiq Lum. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Asiz Sum to make the kick off. With a little luck, North Kilworth FC's Faizal Lee got control of the ball when Wei Xuan Kang tried to sneak it across the goal line. North Kilworth FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Aziz Tee 55 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. The audience was convinced that Asiz Sum's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but SK Pillai was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Zak Peng charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zak Peng the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, North Kilworth FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zak Peng to maneuver through the defense. Great United's SK Pillai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afiq Lum in the 71st minute of play. Aziz Tee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SK Pillai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Asiz Sum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Great United getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Jerry Seng hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tan Phua in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck SK Pillai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Great United's SK Pillai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afiq Lum in the 80th minute of play. The supporters of Great United booed when North Kilworth FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asiz Sum didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faizal Lee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prime Chian in the 83rd minute. In the 92nd minute, Tan Phua left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The North Kilworth FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. SK Pillai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asiz Sum in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Great United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
