The referee ignored Taquimilán's protests and gave Prospero Mon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Prospero Mon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rene Eron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 14 minutes, Eloy Reyes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saldungaray AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Reyes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guillermo Selmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Laurentzi having to interfere. Valentin Caitano kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Guillermo Selmo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saldungaray AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guillermo Selmo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armando Laurentzi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armando Laurentzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eloy Reyes in the 41st minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Selmo was the one to do the kick off. Prospero Mon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute, Guillermo Selmo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saldungaray AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Eloy Reyes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Armando Laurentzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rene Eron came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Taquimilán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Eron couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saldungaray AFC's goalkeeper Modesto Inocente, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Taquimilán defense, Eloy Reyes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armando Laurentzi. The Taquimilán fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armando Laurentzi should have stopped the shot. Saldungaray AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
