Seating: 1839, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Guillermo Selmo took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 6th minute Eloy Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Dalmacio Resto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Saldungaray AFC the free kick. Dalmacio Resto hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Epifanio Fe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eloy Reyes in the 9th minute of play. Joaquin Ermengol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Modesto Inocente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaudencio Mede sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Modesto Inocente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dalmacio Resto, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Saldungaray AFC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joaquin Ermengol 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Independencia's Gaudencio Mede got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute Eloy Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Epifanio Fe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Selmo, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Saldungaray AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmacio Resto came free, but Modesto Inocente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eloy Reyes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Epifanio Fe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Eloy Reyes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guillermo Selmo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dalmacio Resto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Independencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Quinten to maneuver through the defense. Modesto Inocente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Mede in the 62nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Independencia's Conrado Quinten got a free kick in the 64th minute. Eloy Reyes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th match minute, Independencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Bembe to maneuver through the defense. Gaudencio Mede struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Modesto Inocente didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independencia. Dalmacio Resto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Inocente having to interfere. If Eloy Reyes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guillermo Selmo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Epifanio Fe came out and tried to block the shot, but Guillermo Selmo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 87th minute. Guillermo Selmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Fe having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Independencia were victorious despite being under pressure from Saldungaray AFC for much of the match.
