The audience was convinced that Damaso Gai's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicanor Ixidor was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The goalkeeper, Flavio Berbiz, was totally fooled by Caroya's Isaias Nastasio, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 81st minute, Braulio Llanos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Braulio Llanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Berbiz having to interfere. Flavio Berbiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gogo Viator in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute, Braulio Llanos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Club Tijuas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Caroya's performance. The match ended with a win for Caroya.
