Dalmacio Oxarra stood somewhat misplaced when Wiktor Snäll came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 23 minute. Arturo Lartaun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomiro Udalaitz in the 33rd minute of play. The supporters of Hormigas FC booed when Génesis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dalmacio Mikelats didn't get a good kick on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, Baldomiro Udalaitz notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Génesis's Arturo Lartaun. Arturo Lartaun was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pastor Haritz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Lartaun having to interfere. Arturo Lartaun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Haritz, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Pastor Haritz made the kick off in the second half. Arturo Lartaun made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Baldomiro Udalaitz sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hormigas FC's goalkeeper Dalmacio Oxarra, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Pastor Haritz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arturo Lartaun. Pastor Haritz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. After a rather tough play, Hormigas FC's Everardo Phelipe got a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 62nd minute, Pastor Haritz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 65th minute, Alvaro Lope hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Génesis's Arturo Lartaun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldomiro Udalaitz in the 70th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaudencio Karmel in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmacio Oxarra saved Hormigas FC from getting behind. Dalmacio Oxarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santo Uxio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmacio Mikelats's late challenge caught a Hormigas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmacio Mikelats helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Génesis getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Dalmacio Mikelats hit a great ball. 91 minutes into the match, Génesis's goalkeeper Arturo Lartaun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pastor Haritz. Wiktor Snäll struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Dalmacio Oxarra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Génesis. Baldomiro Udalaitz charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Baldomiro Udalaitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th minute, Baldomiro Udalaitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hormigas FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
