With his leg Mateo Fonso managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Monterrey Titanes's Eulalio Astigar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mateo Boni got free with Mateo Fonso in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee felt a red card was in order, 17 minutes into the game, when Celedonio Stephen put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Palmas AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Monterrey Titanes:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Silverio Curcio during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Palmas AFC booed when Monterrey Titanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silverio Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Ivan Xacintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmacio Uhin kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Mateo Fonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltasar Dalmu in the 29th minute of play. Eulalio Astigar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Fonso having to interfere. If Eulalio Astigar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Felipe Beremundo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Palmas AFC's zone, Eulalio Astigar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Fonso came out of the goal and Eulalio Astigar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Palmas AFC's Mateo Fonso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eulalio Astigar in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes Monterrey Titanes got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Astigar. If Eulalio Astigar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Palmas AFC's Mateo Fonso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Boni in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmas AFC's goalkeeper Mateo Fonso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 66 minutes into the match, Palmas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Boni came free, but Mateo Fonso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateo Boni scored 3-1 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mateo Fonso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateo Fonso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eulalio Astigar in the 78th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Justino Aires during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 80 played minutes Palmas AFC got a freekick which was hit by Justino Aires. In the 86th minute Baltasar Dalmu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Fonso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eulalio Astigar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Fonso having to interfere.
