Spectators: 8471 (Terracing: 6357, Seating: 1945, VIP seats: 169) Steelares FC's Nicasio Barea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Valery in the 6th minute of play forced Steelares FC's goalkeeper Eloy Gartxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ciro Santo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabricio Ganix in the 7th minute of the match. Ciro Santo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mate Jelenić in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute Genaro Valery shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabricio Ganix in the 14th minute of play forced América's goalkeeper Ciro Santo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mate Jelenić shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Eloy Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yasen Chovanski in the 24th minute of play. Ciro Santo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mate Jelenić, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gusztáv Keserű sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Steelares FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yasen Chovanski came free, but Eloy Gartxot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Eloy Jurgi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Steelares FC the free kick. Eloy Jurgi kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yasen Chovanski was the one to do the kick off. Ciro Santo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicasio Barea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yasen Chovanski might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Gartxot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yasen Chovanski ran back to his position shaking his head. Yasen Chovanski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Gartxot having to interfere. A collision led to América getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Marcos Hitz hit a great ball. After 76 played minutes América got a freekick which was hit by Eloy Jurgi. Mate Jelenić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yasen Chovanski got free with Eloy Gartxot in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Yasen Chovanski came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the América fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yasen Chovanski couldn't finish the play. After 95 minutes of play, América's Placido Raymundo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eloy Gartxot was left in no man's land by his defense there! Steelares FC made a substitution. Silvestre Adrio replaced Mate Jelenić. América were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Steelares FC's much stronger midfield.
