Gaston Rosio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Norberto Polentzi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Geronimo Eladio put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Norberto Polentzi. After a rather tough play, International's Sergio Perfecto got a free kick in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Gaston Rosio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gaston Rosio had several of the International's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 25 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Norberto Polentzi as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 27 played minutes MEXICO got a freekick which was hit by Eusebio Bazil. 29 minutes into the match, MEXICO's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Belarmo came free, but Björn Vanek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, International's goal looked a bit too open when Gaston Rosio came free, but Norberto Polentzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 81st match minute, International was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Quirze to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the game, MEXICO's Geronimo Eladio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Gaston Rosio put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Norberto Polentzi. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. MEXICO fully deserved thier win.
