When Luis Perez came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Gatitos del infierno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Perez couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Gatitos del infierno's Segundo Gonza got control of the ball when Alejo Beat tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Gatitos del infierno's Luis Perez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Urtats made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Luis Perez came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Gatitos del infierno fans jumped to their feet. If Epifanio Lia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Perez might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Urtats. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Perez ran back to his position shaking his head. 31 minutes into the match, Luis Perez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Urtats. After 47 minutes, Ubaldo Rameriz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gatitos del infierno and the Rucanelo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ubaldo Rameriz kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the game, Epifanio Lia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gatitos del infierno's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rucanelo FC the free kick. In the 48th minute, Epifanio Lia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Diego Ortle got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Segundo Gonza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siro Donio, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 68th minute Hector Galeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Gonza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Urtats made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Luis Perez sent off a good shot on target. After 74 minutes, Diego Ortle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gatitos del infierno and the Rucanelo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 74 played minutes Gatitos del infierno got a freekick which was hit by Diego Ortle. A collision led to Gatitos del infierno getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Ubaldo Rameriz hit a great ball. After 81 played minutes, Rucanelo FC's Oscar Pelayo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Segundo Gonza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rucanelo FC reached it. Epifanio Lia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 84th minute Saverio Gilesindo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Gonza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejo Beat in the 90th minute of play forced Gatitos del infierno's goalkeeper Segundo Gonza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
