Selvin Hidalgo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 18th minute, REAL MADRID's Joselito Pérez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Shawn Padilla. Shawn Padilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Pedro Mendez came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Shawn Padilla could save by the left post. Benji Barraza kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Shawn Padilla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Shawn Padilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joselito Pérez, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. If Joselito Pérez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Viscarra was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 30 minutes into the match. Selvin Hidalgo went to the wrong direction when Mario Olmedo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. A collision led to REAL MADRID getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Francisco Bautista hit a great ball. Allan Villalobos took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Selvin Hidalgo. Selvin Hidalgo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Douglas Carranza to strike the kick off in the second half.
