DJSC's Benji Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Salamanca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Milton Zepeda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Erazo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Cristian Salamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Erazo in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Salamanca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute, Rene Victorino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marathón's goalkeeper Fabio Cruz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. David Erazo scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristian Salamanca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. David Erazo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cristian Salamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Liborio's late challenge caught a DJSC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Erazo made a kick off. DJSC's Benji Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Benji Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnoldo Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Benji Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Sanchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, DJSC's Edgardo Rey got a free kick in the 68th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Erazo in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in DJSC's zone, Edgar Magaña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristian Salamanca came out of the goal and Edgar Magaña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. DJSC's Cristian Salamanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Erazo in the 87th minute of play. David Erazo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Salamanca having to interfere. Cristian Salamanca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Erazo in the 97th minute of the match. Milton Zepeda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Cristian Salamanca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
