Real España's Sarbelio Canales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benji Fernandez in the 11th minute of play. Sarbelio Canales made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Arnoldo Sanchez sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 20 minutes, Waldir Llorente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real España's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldir Llorente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rene Victorino kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Waldir Llorente left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The tension between the Real España and the DJSC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real España's goalkeeper Sarbelio Canales, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benji Fernandez made a kick off. Cristian Salamanca stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldir Llorente's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Real España's goal looked a bit too open when Benji Fernandez came free, but Sarbelio Canales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
