The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Meza got free with Patricio Lara in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Paredes in the 32nd minute of play forced Olimpia's goalkeeper Patricio Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Olimpia getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Ulises Mora hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Oscar Paredes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patricio Lara. Oscar Paredes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jorge Espindola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Rodriguez in the 41st minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Ulises Mora was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Olimpia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Bayern United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Olimpia's Ulises Mora got a free kick in the 44th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The referee ignored FC Bayern United's protests and gave Cesar Rico a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th match minute, FC Bayern United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Rico to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Leopoldo Uranga during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
