Manuel Fornos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Wembley:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nazarenos:s goal. The referee gave Nazarenos a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Padilla, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Wembley's Marvin Guevara. 1-2. Wembley's Marvin Guevara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilmer Bentos in the 44th minute of play. When Alvaro Zapata fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nazarenos's protests and gave Alvaro Zapata a yellow card for diving instead. After 49 minutes, Oscar Arellano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wembley and the Nazarenos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Oscar Arellano hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

But to his dismay, Wilmer Bentos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The Nazarenos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nazarenos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
