Seating: 1845, VIP seats: 0) Alfredo Vinosis made the kick off and thus started the match. Alfredo Vinosis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Erick Vasquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fidel Mena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erick Vasquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredo Vinosis's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Edwin Castro came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Redruth City's Raúl Murgas. But to his dismay, Raúl Murgas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 26 minutes, Alfredo Vinosis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pocklington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Vinosis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Vinosis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Redruth City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fidel Mena fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Redruth City's goalkeeper Erick Vasquez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Vinosis. If Alfredo Vinosis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carmelo Molina was the one to do the kick off. Saul Escalante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erick Vasquez having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Raúl Murgas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Redruth City's supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Murgas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin Castro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Will Villanueva's late challenge caught a Redruth City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Will Villanueva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Redruth City booed when Pocklington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Villanueva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carmelo Molina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrés Huezo hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Raúl Murgas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Edwin Castro made a huge save. After 67 minutes, Saul Escalante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pocklington and the Redruth City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rene Cruz, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Carmelo Molina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Pocklington's Edwin Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmelo Molina in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Fidel Mena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pocklington's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fidel Mena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edwin Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edwin Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmelo Molina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th minute, Saul Escalante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
