Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 0) Francesco Tarantini started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, FC Barandillas's goalkeeper Armand Marant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patricio Melendez. In the 4th minute Yasir Del Carmen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Marant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ulises Noyola kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. FC Barandillas's Armand Marant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save FC Barandillas from getting a goal against them. Armand Marant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yasir Del Carmen in the 9th minute of the match. Dino Fantozzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patricio Peña having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Yasir Del Carmen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Armand Marant. Yasir Del Carmen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. FC Barandillas's Armand Marant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FC Barandillas from getting a goal against them. The throw-in from Ladislao Llorente in the 20th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Barandillas's Avilio Orellana. In the 21st minute, Dino Fantozzi made a precise shot to the right of Patricio Peña. Thanet's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Thanet's goalkeeper Patricio Peña, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Barandillas's Francesco Tarantini got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, FC Barandillas's Mauro Mendoza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Patricio Peña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Francesco Tarantini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patricio Peña read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute Dino Fantozzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Peña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yasir Del Carmen in the 34th minute of play forced FC Barandillas's goalkeeper Armand Marant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute, Francesco Tarantini left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Barandillas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Patricio Peña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Tarantini in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yasir Del Carmen made a kick off. When Francesco Tarantini came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the FC Barandillas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francesco Tarantini couldn't finish the play. In the 56th minute Francesco Tarantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Peña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Thanet's zone, Dino Fantozzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patricio Peña came out of the goal and Dino Fantozzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Francesco Tarantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Peña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dino Fantozzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Francesco Tarantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francesco Tarantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Patricio Peña tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Barandillas booed when Thanet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zelvin Rosales didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zelvin Rosales during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Thanet was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zelvin Rosales to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Tarantini in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patricio Peña saved Thanet from getting behind. If Mauro Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armand Marant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yasir Del Carmen, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Francesco Tarantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Barandillas's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Tarantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patricio Peña breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patricio Peña didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dino Fantozzi went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. FC Barandillas played a much better game than Thanet and deserved their victory. The Thanet players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
