After a rather tough play, Ilford FC's Alvaro Guerra got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 8 minutes in the game, Alberto Ocampo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alberto Escalante having to interfere. When Ladislao Díaz fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shrewsbury's protests and gave Ladislao Díaz a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Shrewsbury got a freekick which was hit by Ladislao Díaz. Alberto Escalante was a little too slow when Alberto Ocampo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. Marcelo Pérez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amilcar Arango's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. If Rafael Ruiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ilford FC's Allan Ventura in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shrewsbury's goalie prevented a goal. Allan Ventura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Pérez having to interfere. The supporters of Ilford FC booed when Shrewsbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrés Fuentes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efren Zepeda, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ilford FC's Allan Ventura got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Allan Ventura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Amilcar Arango was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Alberto Ocampo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alberto Escalante. Ilford FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Ocampo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Alberto Escalante didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Shrewsbury's Rafael Ruiz shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Alberto Ocampo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alberto Escalante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Ocampo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Escalante read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. If Alberto Ocampo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 76 minutes into the match, Shrewsbury's goalkeeper Marcelo Pérez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan Ventura. A collision led to Shrewsbury getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ladislao Díaz hit a great ball. In the 79th minute, Efren Zepeda sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Shrewsbury's Marcelo Pérez didn't even have to move. Rafael Ruiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Ilford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Ocampo came free, but Alberto Escalante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Pérez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Ventura, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When Rafael Ruiz came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Shrewsbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Ruiz couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Shrewsbury had won after a very even match.
