In the 13th minute, Rene Hinguanzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benji Posadas during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benji Posadas hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, F.C Guatemala's Juan Huezo tried to score from far away in the 16th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the game, Rene Hinguanzo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Wilber Pinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benji Posadas kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Rene Hinguanzo struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Wilber Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for F.C Guatemala. Wilber Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Ruiz during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Juan Huezo, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. F.C Guatemala's Deris Alferez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erick Guevara in the 32nd minute of play. When Rene Hinguanzo came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the F.C Guatemala fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rene Hinguanzo couldn't finish the play. The Amor Al Fútbol players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F.C Guatemala were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene Hinguanzo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Rene Hinguanzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilber Pinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rene Hinguanzo in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilber Pinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the match, Amor Al Fútbol's goalkeeper Wilber Pinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antonio Bermudez.
