Rudy Rivera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sarbelio Coreas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 39 minutes, Sarbelio Coreas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Weston Super Mare's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sarbelio Coreas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lewes City's zone, Ovidio Salguero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudy Rivera came out of the goal and Ovidio Salguero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ovidio Salguero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marcelo Sigaran made the kick off in the second half. Lewes City were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Weston Super Mare's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miguel Santana took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Miguel Santana got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jorge Salinas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Sarbelio Coreas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Henry Medrano came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Lewes City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Medrano couldn't finish the play. Sarbelio Coreas struck a weak shot in the 81st minute.
