Christian Hinguanzo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jhalmar Mendoza to strike the kick off in the second half. Manuel Palencia was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Leigh United's Jhalmar Mendoza got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guillermo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhalmar Mendoza in the 56th minute of play. Guillermo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 60 minutes, Arnoldo Lovo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burton upon Trent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnoldo Lovo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jhalmar Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Sarbelio Martinez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leopoldo Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Leopoldo Machado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillermo Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 84th match minute, Leigh United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julio Nunes to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes Burton upon Trent got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Messias.
