The audience thought a goal was coming when Antonio Guardado got free with Adolfo Corrales in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greenwich's Adolfo Corrales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Palma in the 11th minute of play. Adolfo Corrales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Palma in the 16th minute of play. Antonio Guardado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nelson Morales hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Elias Aguirrez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alvaro Barreto went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Max Brizuela kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Greenwich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Flores to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Antonio Guardado got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Leonel Palma was extremely unlucky when he, in the 41st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Antonio Guardado's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adolfo Corrales read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Greenwich's Pablo Flores seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Pablo Flores the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Greenwich protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Pablo Flores had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 44th minute, one of Greenwich:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Greenwich. Adolfo Corrales went to the wrong direction when Fidel Viscarra was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Paredes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antonio Guardado might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolfo Corrales. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Guardado ran back to his position shaking his head. Leonel Palma hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Adolfo Corrales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Guardado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adolfo Corrales came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Whitehaven AFC's Leonel Palma. But to his dismay, Leonel Palma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Adolfo Corrales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Palma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Whitehaven AFC's goalkeeper Elias Aguirrez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Paredes. After a rather tough play, Whitehaven AFC's Nelson Morales got a free kick in the 76th minute. Antonio Guardado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Adolfo Corrales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
