Saul Ayala's late challenge caught a Birmingham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Tiverton FC's zone, Odir Talia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marvin Magaña came out of the goal and Odir Talia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd minute, Angel Valenzuela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Odir Talia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Allan Pedrozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Odir Talia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Birmingham's Angel Valenzuela got a free kick in the 31st minute. Saul Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Abraham Braun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Cristian Madariaga fired a really elegant long shot, but Abraham Braun threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Abraham Braun made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erick Hidalgo in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Tiverton FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
