After some careless play in the Clitheroe defense, Fidel Noyola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Primitivo Guerrero. The Clitheroe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Primitivo Guerrero should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute of the match Saul Ortiz shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Primitivo Guerrero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emerson Posadass short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Dennys Leguizamon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 40th minute, Cesar Rojas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional De Guatemala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 46th minute, Clitheroe's Arnoldo Collado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dennys Leguizamon. Dennys Leguizamon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Arnoldo Collado made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Díaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clitheroe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nacional De Guatemala the free kick. A collision led to Clitheroe getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Arnoldo Díaz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Clitheroe's zone, Felipe Escalante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Primitivo Guerrero came out of the goal and Felipe Escalante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Cesar Rojas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Clitheroe's zone, Fidel Noyola stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Primitivo Guerrero came out of the goal and Fidel Noyola tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 63rd minute, Wilmer Salamanca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adolfo Bermudez kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. If Emerson Posadas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnoldo Collado might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennys Leguizamon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnoldo Collado ran back to his position shaking his head. Emerson Posadas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennys Leguizamon having to make a save. 68 minutes into the match, Clitheroe's Emerson Posadas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dennys Leguizamon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dennys Leguizamon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emerson Posadas in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Adolfo Bermudez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennys Leguizamon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Posadas, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Cesar Rojas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute Arnoldo Collado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dennys Leguizamon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoldo Collado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennys Leguizamon having to make a save. Oswaldo Castaneda's late challenge caught a Clitheroe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswaldo Castaneda helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th match minute, Nacional De Guatemala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Castaneda to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
