The El Quetzal F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Ancheta should have stopped the shot. Paolo Ribeiro made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Januario Toledano sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute Shawn Palma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Ribeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Bollington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Will Renderos to maneuver through the defense. 46 minutes into the match, Bollington's goal looked a bit too open when Shawn Palma came free, but Paolo Ribeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Januario Toledano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paolo Ribeiro having to interfere. When Rudy Leiva fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bollington's protests and gave Rudy Leiva a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Bollington's Rudy Leiva got a free kick in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Campos in the 59th minute of play forced El Quetzal F.C's goalkeeper Edwin Ancheta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paolo Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Januario Toledano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, El Quetzal F.C's Edwin Ancheta got control of the ball when Raúl Cortez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jairo Erazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bollington's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo Erazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin Ancheta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Campos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Shawn Palma put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Paolo Ribeiro. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Cruz during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of El Quetzal F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bollington:s goal. Edwin Ancheta went to the wrong direction when Diego Lima was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Efrain Medrano hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. El Quetzal F.C had won after a very even match.
