Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. With a little luck, Ilford's Camilo Cerritos got control of the ball when Joselito Díaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ovidio Barrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joselito Díaz's late challenge caught a Ilford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joselito Díaz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Southwold was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joselito Díaz to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Sosa, 17 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Ivan Talia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Henry Leiva charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henry Leiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Eraldo Oporto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ilford's supporters rose to their feet, but Eraldo Oporto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dagoberto Gallegos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dagoberto Gallegos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eraldo Oporto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Edgar Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ilford's Ivan Talia got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ilford's Camilo Cerritos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Ilford from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Southwold booed when Ilford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yasir Del Carmen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Joselito Díaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southwold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joselito Díaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 46 played minutes Ilford got a freekick which was hit by Armando Corpeño. Joselito Díazs short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Camilo Cerritos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Joselito Díaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Camilo Cerritos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Camilo Cerritos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ovidio Barrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Barrera in the 58th minute of play forced Ilford's goalkeeper Camilo Cerritos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Joselito Díaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Cerritos was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Ilford's Camilo Cerritos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joselito Díaz in the 79th minute of play. After having played for 81 minutes, Joselito Díaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southwold's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joselito Díaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute, Hector Cruz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ilford's Camilo Cerritos didn't even have to move. 86 minutes into the match, Southwold's Joselito Díaz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camilo Cerritos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Camilo Cerritos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joselito Díaz in the 94th minute of play. Southwold's Dagoberto Gallegos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Corpeño in the 97th minute of play.
