GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Efe Suheyl in the 2nd minute of play. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Efe Suheyl, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. GuateFortín were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Real Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Máximo Perrone took the corner. After taking down the ball on GuateFortín's corner Máximo Perrone fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Christian Carballo quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Zico Zellier got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Christian Carballo. Christian Carballo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Christian Carballo made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Sven-Edvin Jansson sent off a good shot on target. After 27 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Ocampo. In the 30th minute of the game Danilo Ocampo made a throw-in which Zico Zellier played forward. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Carballo saved Real Juniors from getting behind. Ahmet Efe Suheyl blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nery Pumpido having to make a save. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Efe Suheyl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Redondo in the 41st minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Real Juniors's corner Jerry Dhanabalan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nery Pumpido quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sven-Edvin Jansson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christian Carballo. That made the score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Máximo Perrone was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, GuateFortín's Máximo Perrone nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Carballo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. With a little luck, GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido got control of the ball when Ahmet Efe Suheyl tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Máximo Perrone in the 61st minute of play forced Real Juniors's goalkeeper Christian Carballo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 63 in the game by Ahmet Efe Suheyl from a close distance when the talented Nery Pumpido managed to make a qualified save. GuateFortín's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Máximo Perrone in the 65th minute of play forced Real Juniors's goalkeeper Christian Carballo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ahmet Efe Suheyl in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nery Pumpido saved GuateFortín from getting behind. GuateFortín's Heriberto Correa was substituted for Roberto Trotta. In the 74th match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Cerritos to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Real Juniors's zone, Sven-Edvin Jansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Carballo came out of the goal and Sven-Edvin Jansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Real Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Jansson came free, but Christian Carballo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Carballo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 95th minute of play. GuateFortín's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
