In the 19th minute Alvin Madriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Rosabal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tilaran's Keylor Rosabal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Tilaran from getting a goal against them. Alvin Madriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvin Madriz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Herediano Tul's zone, Pepe Madriz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Porras came out of the goal and Pepe Madriz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Keylor Rosabal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvin Madriz, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Solera got free with Keylor Rosabal in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 38 played minutes, Tilaran's Olman Ortega shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Federico Porras came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tilaran reached it. Dennis Solera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Keylor Rosabal firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 44thth minute of the game Pepe Madriz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Herediano Tul's Federico Porras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jason Barquero hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Saul Rosales was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Pepe Madriz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tilaran's supporters rose to their feet, but Pepe Madriz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Porras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Herediano Tul getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Asdrubal Garita hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Herediano Tul's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Pepe Madriz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 62nd minute, Saul Rosales got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Federico Porras was a little too slow when Saul Rosales got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 1-1. After a rather tough play, Tilaran's Pepe Madriz got a free kick in the 69th minute. Federico Porras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saul Rosales in the 74th minute of the match. If Saul Rosales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Tilaran booed when Herediano Tul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonny Madrigal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Federico Porras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saul Rosales, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Saul Rosales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Federico Porras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Federico Porras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pepe Madriz in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Herediano Tul's Alvin Madriz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Keylor Rosabal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Tilaran's zone, Dennis Solera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keylor Rosabal came out of the goal and Dennis Solera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 96 played minutes Herediano Tul got a freekick which was hit by Adalberto Leiton. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
