The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6thth minute of the game Enzo Francescoli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palmar's Maikol Matute was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 8 minutes into the match, elclu's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Varela came free, but Primitivo Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mario Mata during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 9th match minute, Palmar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Mata to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th minute, Alan Echeverri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee gave Mario Mata a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Palmar's Mario Mata got a free kick in the 19th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Varela during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marco Varela hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmar's goalkeeper Maikol Matute, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bernardo Calvo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palmar's David Guevara got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Palmar's goalkeeper Maikol Matute had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardo Calvo. In the 37th minute of the match, Enzo Francescoli tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Maikol Matute saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Alan Echeverri kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Bernardo Calvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maikol Matute having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bernardo Calvo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Benito Sanabria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave elclu the free kick. In the 51st minute, Benito Sanabria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alan Echeverri during the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Enzo Francescoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. elclu's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Francescoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maikol Matute breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardo Calvo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enzo Francescoli took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maikol Matute. Maikol Matute dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enzo Francescoli in the 81st minute of play forced Palmar's goalkeeper Maikol Matute to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernardo Peña was slow to take the kick. During this time elclu's players had a chance to rest. In the 88th minute, Enzo Francescoli made a precise shot to the right of Maikol Matute. Palmar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. elclu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
