Jorge Echeverri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Fallas in the 4th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Juventud Brumosa FC's Tomas Elizondo got a free kick in the 5th minute. Jorge Echeverri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Cruz in the 6th minute of the match. Juventud Brumosa FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Anselmo Fallas 8 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Olman Orlich made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Castillo in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Brian Orlich got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brian Orlich blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Echeverri having to make a save. When FC Monteverde's Anselmo Fallas in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. FC Monteverde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Fallas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anselmo Fallas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leon Leon to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leon Leon in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olman Orlich prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 58 minutes, Vicente Castillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juventud Brumosa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Castillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Juventud Brumosa FC's zone, Anselmo Fallas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Echeverri came out of the goal and Anselmo Fallas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute, Ruben Rojas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Marco Portuguez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Leon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olman Orlich having to interfere. When Anselmo Fallas came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the FC Monteverde fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anselmo Fallas couldn't finish the play. Anselmo Fallas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jorge Echeverri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Echeverri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Fallas in the 84th minute of the match. 90 minutes into the match, FC Monteverde's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Leon came free, but Olman Orlich reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salvador Cruz in the 91st minute of play forced Juventud Brumosa FC's goalkeeper Jorge Echeverri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anselmo Fallas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Monteverde had won after a very even match.
