When the match had been going on for 8 minutes, Cobano AFC's Alexis Castillo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tomás Rosado. The supporters of Cobano AFC booed when Diablos Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alain Williams didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomás Rosado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Coto went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Julio Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Cobano AFC's zone, Alain Williams stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvin Lopez came out of the goal and Alain Williams tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 39 minutes, Rene Orlich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diablos Rojos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Orlich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Diablos Rojos's goalkeeper Tomás Rosado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adolfo Coto.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rene Orlich made a kick off. When Adolfo Coto came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Cobano AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adolfo Coto couldn't finish the play. Tomás Rosado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Varela in the 57th minute of the match. Ruben Fallas scored 2-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvin Lopez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ruben Fallas might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvin Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruben Fallas ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Rosado having to interfere. Tomás Rosado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Talamanca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Diablos Rojos defense, Adolfo Coto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Rosado. The Diablos Rojos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Rosado should have stopped the shot. Ruben Fallas scored 3-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvin Lopez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ruben Fallas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diablos Rojos's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruben Fallas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvin Lopez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 83 minutes Cobano AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. After taking down the ball on Diablos Rojos's corner Otilio Artavia fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alvin Lopez quite easily take care of the ball. Diablos Rojos's Tomás Rosado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Varela in the 87th minute of play. Alvin Lopez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruben Fallas went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. 4-4 became the score in the 92nd minute when Julio Varela elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
