Seating: 2113, VIP seats: 183) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Minor Pineda took the kick off in the first half of the match. Guido Conejo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tito Hernandez having to interfere. Guido Conejo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tito Hernandez came out and tried to block the shot, but Guido Conejo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 13th minute. When Benito Montealegre came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Limon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Montealegre couldn't finish the play. Tito Hernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Porras in the 29th minute of play. Agustin Calderon hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Minor Pinedas short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Tito Hernandez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 35 minutes, Agustin Calderon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Platanillo AFC and the Limon players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th match minute, Platanillo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Calderon to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Minor Pineda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Josue Rohrmoser got free with Tito Hernandez in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Gilberto Porras got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Miguel Godinez kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Minor Pineda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josue Rohrmoser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Tito Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Parra made a kick off. Tito Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Conejo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 minutes, Frank Orozco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Platanillo AFC and the Limon players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Limon booed when Platanillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Orozco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicolas Chamberlain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Calderon, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Platanillo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Josue Rohrmoser came free, but Tito Hernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto Porras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gilberto Porras came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Limon fans jumped to their feet. Tito Hernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 92 minutes, Gilberto Porras managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Limon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Porras was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Limon's Gilberto Porras got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tito Hernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josue Rohrmoser in the 100th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Limon players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
