With a left leg Edgar Rohrmoser saved Puriscal from getting behind. Donald Salas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Puriscal's Edgar Rohrmoser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Peralta in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Platanillo AFC booed when Puriscal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Ruben Viquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Puriscal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Platanillo AFC the free kick. Ruben Viquez hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute of the match Alexander Saborio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edgar Rohrmoser skillfully saved the ball. Donald Salas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donald Salas came free with the goalkeeper in the 18th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tito Hernandez could save by the left post. When Andrei Matos came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Puriscal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrei Matos couldn't finish the play. Donald Salas struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Tito Hernandez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puriscal. In the 29thth minute of the game Andrei Matos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Platanillo AFC's Tito Hernandez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Platanillo AFC's goalkeeper Tito Hernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donald Salas. Andrei Matos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Tito Hernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tito Hernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franklin Parra to make the kick off. When Franklin Parra came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Platanillo AFC fans jumped to their feet. Tito Hernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Salas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Benito Peralta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Platanillo AFC's attack was well implemented in the 73rd minute, but when Franklin Parra was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. In the 75th minute Donald Salas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tito Hernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
