Antonio Orozco did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Edgar Rohrmoser 24 minutes into the match. After 28 minutes of play, Barcelona FC's Oscar Cordoba made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Puriscal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerardo Sanchez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-1. In the 93rd minute, Nacho Talamanca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcelona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-1. In the 98th minute, Gerardo Sanchez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Barcelona FC had played much better football throughout.
