The referee gave Union getse a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jaime Umaña, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Graga's Chunche Leiton. 2-3. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabian Paniagua made a kick off. Fabian Paniagua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emilio Blanco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saul Ugalde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fabian Paniagua came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Union getse fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabian Paniagua couldn't finish the play. Emilio Blanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Herrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute.
