In the 19th minute Procopio Cia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Faro Nebot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leonel Villasuso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reyes Perdices having to make a save. In the 22nd minute, Ferrando Minayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cajabamba's goalkeeper Reyes Perdices, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonel Villasuso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Procopio Cia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Procopio Cia in the 37th minute of play forced Curiyaca's goalkeeper Faro Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reyes Perdices made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Villasuso in the 39th minute of play. Curiyaca's Faro Nebot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Rioja in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Cajabamba booed when Curiyaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pirmin Noguer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Cristiano Rioja cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Faro Nebot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonel Villasuso to make the kick off. Reyes Perdices took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Villasuso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Curiyaca booed when Cajabamba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferrando Minayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Salamon Ayerdi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reyes Perdices skillfully saved the ball. In the 74thth minute of the game Leonel Villasuso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cajabamba's Reyes Perdices was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Curiyaca's Leonel Villasuso got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 76 played minutes Cajabamba got a freekick which was hit by Cordeal Torre. If Procopio Cia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Leonel Villasuso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Curiyaca's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Villasuso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reyes Perdices breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leonel Villasuso took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reyes Perdices. Reyes Perdices dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 94th minute, Procopio Cia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Faro Nebot, passed just outside the right post. Procopio Cia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faro Nebot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play.
