But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaizko Burualla couldn't finish the play. Gaizko Burualla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erubiel Feyjo having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, FC Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Castaño came free, but Erubiel Feyjo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Avengers's corner Valiente Tarresola fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Erubiel Feyjo quite easily take care of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Gaizko Burualla made the kick off in the second half. Gaizko Buruallas short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Erubiel Feyjo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oihenarte Cascajares during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Avengers booed when FC Alianza Lima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oihenarte Cascajares didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Gaizko Burualla got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Panpili Tercero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Serafo Azcunaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prejun Salgado in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serafo Azcunaga saved Avengers from getting behind. With a little luck, FC Alianza Lima's Erubiel Feyjo got control of the ball when Gaizko Burualla tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaizko Burualla got free with Erubiel Feyjo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Avengers's Joaquin Alderete got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Gaizko Burualla fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
