The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Lordi Amezua put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sergio Maquilanda. Sergio Maquilanda made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Lordi Amezua sent off a good shot on target. If Castel Torrecillas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hori Enebro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Valentim Barreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Club Alianza Lima booed when Sancor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cheche Collantes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genaro Pujargimon during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 17 minutes into the match, Club Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Calvet Villarino came free, but Sergio Maquilanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Hori Enebro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentim Barreiro. Sancor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hori Enebro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 23rd minute, Maximino Hoyon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sergio Maquilanda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lordi Amezua in the 28th minute. Urko Ferreiras charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urko Ferreiras the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sancor's Urko Ferreiras got a free kick in the 31st minute. Stefano Lorenzo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Valentim Barreiro. Sancor's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Maximino Hoyon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Sancor's zone, Hori Enebro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentim Barreiro came out of the goal and Hori Enebro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Sancor getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Vistruario Remon hit a great ball. Sancor's Valentim Barreiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Castel Torrecillas in the 39th minute of play. Valentim Barreiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hori Enebro in the 40th minute of play. Valentim Barreiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Hoyon in the 41st minute of the match. Cheche Collantes hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Hori Enebro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Baiona Pinillas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Valentim Barreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Castel Torrecillas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Alianza Lima's supporters rose to their feet, but Castel Torrecillas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentim Barreiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Maximino Hoyon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Baiona Pinillas came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Club Alianza Lima fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baiona Pinillas couldn't finish the play. Baiona Pinillas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergio Maquilanda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lordi Amezua in the 69th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Club Alianza Lima got a freekick which was hit by Baiona Pinillas. 73 minutes into the match, Club Alianza Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Lordi Amezua came free, but Sergio Maquilanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hori Enebro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 82 minutes into the game, when Raymond Manzardo put in a rough tackle. 86 minutes into the game, Sancor's Calvet Villarino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Maquilanda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 89 minutes into the match, Maximino Hoyon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valentim Barreiro. Sancor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximino Hoyon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Baiona Pinillas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute, Club Alianza Lima's Hori Enebro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. When the match was over Club Alianza Lima could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sancor throughout the match.
