In the 20th minute, Honesto Noguerol made a precise shot to the right of Donato Valle. Club Defensor Los Robles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Xarles Rascon fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored UNIVERSITARIO's protests and gave Xarles Rascon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to UNIVERSITARIO getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Xarles Rascon hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Xavier Hurley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Club Defensor Los Robles booed when UNIVERSITARIO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferran Picavea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartuelo Balboa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Curcio Bocinos to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes UNIVERSITARIO got a freekick which was hit by Bartuelo Balboa. The long shot by Rogerio Orio in the 52nd minute really tested Shantala Mariña's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Vivaldo Berger came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Club Defensor Los Robles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vivaldo Berger couldn't finish the play. Shantala Mariña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Arrano in the 67th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Honesto Noguerol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato Valle. Club Defensor Los Robles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Honesto Noguerol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Club Defensor Los Robles made a substitution. Tartalo Perojo replaced Deyan Brashnarov. Club Defensor Los Robles's Antonio Moreno was substituted for Enol Lezama. Shantala Mariña made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vivaldo Berger in the 92nd minute. In the 95th minute, Honesto Noguerol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Donato Valle was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. UNIVERSITARIO's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
