In the 7th minute Beto Ulloa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Espino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alberto Garcia during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alberto Garcia hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Beto Ulloa struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Eloy Espino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Margun F.C.. Eloy Espino made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Hector Tijero sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in El Uvito's zone, Hector Tijero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloy Espino came out of the goal and Hector Tijero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eloy Espino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Ulloa, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Joe Moscoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heraclides Quintero having to interfere. Joe Moscoso struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Heraclides Quintero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Uvito. Heraclides Quintero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Moscoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The supporters of El Uvito booed when Margun F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Monchi Ramírez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Margun F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave El Uvito the free kick. After a rather tough play, Margun F.C.'s Elias Chavez got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Milton Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beto Ulloa made a kick off. Hector Tijero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eloy Espino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Beto Ulloa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Tijero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Espino having to interfere. Reinaldo Moreno hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Margun F.C.'s Beto Ulloa got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Beto Ulloa came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Margun F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beto Ulloa couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Moscoso in the 74th minute of play forced Margun F.C.'s goalkeeper Heraclides Quintero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute, Beto Ulloa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Margun F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Eloy Espino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Ulloa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
