Hector Espino came out of the goal and Nicolás Escobar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Río Hato F.C. booed when Veracruz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Amaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toto Posam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Aizprua having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Río Hato F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Henriguez came free, but Hector Espino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Río Hato F.C.'s Toto Posam has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Bultrón in the 44th minute of play forced Río Hato F.C.'s goalkeeper Hector Espino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Toto Posam to strike the kick off in the second half. Río Hato F.C.'s Andres Navarro suffered a sore foot after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ramón Amaya charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramón Amaya the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Veracruz's Ramón Amaya got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When Guillermo De Paredes came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Río Hato F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guillermo De Paredes couldn't finish the play. Jaime Henriguez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Hector Espino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicolás Escobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Río Hato F.C.'s Hector Espino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Henriguez in the 69th minute of play. Guillermo De Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Río Hato F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
